About us

Over the choir's 40 year history we have built a loyal following and a reputation for friendly camaraderie and high-quality, entertaining concerts.

We hold a gala concert every spring in Epsom Playhouse and have a varied and active diary the rest of the year, filled with concerts, tours, social events and more. Over the years we have sung at many well known venues, notably the Albert Hall, the Royal Festival Hall, Truro Cathedral, and the Hall for Cornwall, and we've enjoyed tours to Wales, France and Poland. Locally, we have sung at the Dorking Halls, Epsom Playhouse and Fairfield Halls and any number of churches and village halls.

We sing an extremely wide range of music, encompassing traditional male voice choir standards, arrangements of popular music, show tunes, folksong, and newly composed music; some of it specially written for us. For example, in 2023, as part of our 40th anniversary celebrations we commissioned a new piece from Edward-Rhys Harry, and a number of songs by our musical director have become firm repertoire favourites.

The choir supports its friendly and supportive ethos with a range of extra-curricular social activities and we do our best to support local charities and other organisations, both through choir activities and through our offshoot ensemble, Epsom Singers.

By tradition, each incoming chairman selects a particular cause for the choir to support during their term in office (See sidebar). Learn about our current Chairman's Charity here.
